Sycamore Court Care Home

Sycamore House is a fully CQC-compliant, purpose-built care home in a peaceful rural area of Hull. We accommodate up to 37 residents and provide high-quality Dementia and General Residential care for individuals both over and under 65. Our home is led by a dedicated, CQC-registered manager and supported by a fully trained team available 24/7.
Conveniently located with excellent transport links and on-site parking, Sycamore House offers a safe, welcoming environment where residents feel at home. The building is thoughtfully designed for accessibility, featuring wide corridors with grab rails, specialist bathing equipment, lockable bedrooms, and infection-control flooring. All rooms are equipped with a call bell system, and external doors have electronic keypad security for resident safety. Pets are welcome to visit, and our secure, private garden provides a peaceful space for residents and their families to enjoy.
Residents can relax in a choice of comfortable lounges and well-furnished bedrooms. Our chefs prepare fresh, home-cooked meals tailored to individual tastes, dietary requirements, and cultural preferences. We encourage social dining and offer an open visitor policy—relatives are welcome anytime, including joining their loved ones for meals.
Additional amenities include a hair and beauty salon and a fully wheelchair-accessible garden. At Sycamore House, we are committed to person-centred care that promotes dignity, independence, and a sense of community. Our staff receive ongoing training and support, ensuring residents live active, fulfilling lives in a safe and nurturing environment.

2. Decor & Amenities

Sycamore House is a 36-bedded secure Care Home for younger and older adults and for Residents living with Dementia, providing personal care and accommodation.

Sycamore House is a purpose-built care home with everything on one level, making it ideal for people with impaired mobility. The home provides 36 single rooms. The home has two large lounges a separate dining room and a smoke room. All areas are fitted with domestic furniture and lighting. Both lounges are equipped with flat-screen colour television.

Sycamore House is approached by a drive leading past a private dwelling to the home. Residents are able to enjoy the grounds and patio areas which contain a range of tables and chairs where they may sit out in the warm weather. The perimeter to the garden areas is enclosed allowing Residents to walk around outside safely and ramps are provided for the use of wheelchairs.

The home has one communal bathroom with a shower, three conventional baths one of which is fitted with a bath chair for easy access. Four separate WC equipped with grab rails and call bells in place.

Specialist equipment, which includes hoists, grab rails and aids, have all been provided to maximize the independence of our Residents. Doorways that require wheelchair access all have the required opening width.

The home has a hairdressing salon and the hairdresser attends once a week. Each bedroom is designed with a different colour door and special features to ensure that our Residents living with Dementia can relate to their own living space. Also, our corridors are filled with sensory pictures, toilets and bathrooms have a feature wall to help our Residents living with Dementia to stay stimulated.

All hot water taps have temperature control and are checked weekly to ensure the right temperature for the comfort and convenience of our Residents and all of the bedrooms have matching bedroom units.

Residents are invited to personalise their bedrooms by bringing their own ornaments, pictures and any other objects of personal significance into the home. Furniture can be brought in by prior arrangement.

3. Food & Dining

Our chef teams use great ingredients to provide freshly prepared, nutritionally balanced meals based on regularly changing, seasonal menus. We make mealtimes an occasion for our residents, enabling them to enjoy their food in welcoming surroundings and catered for by our care teams. Residents always have multiple options to choose from at all meal times and can opt for something different if they change their minds when the food arrives.

We make sure our residents start the day right with a filling breakfast including cereals, fruit, toast and porridge, plus a daily changing choice of hot options. Our Residents are welcome to have breakfast any time they desire, and we are happy to accommodate their morning schedule. Between Breakfast and Lunch, we offer mid-morning cake and coffee.

Here lunch is the main meal of the day – enabling residents to dine together in a restaurant-style environment and providing a choice of hot meals and the option of soup or a sandwich for those that don’t want something quite as filling. Lunch is finished with delicious desserts, all prepared on-site by our chef teams.

And then, between lunch and supper, it’s mid-afternoon tea time with mouth-watering freshly baked cakes that our residents and team members enjoy together, making afternoon tea an activity in itself. After supper, during the night, lighter meal options are provided in the evening, and fresh fruit and snacks are available throughout the day to keep resident’s nourished, energised and satisfied
